4 different ways to use our block printed throws
Our block printed throws can be used in so many different ways that some find this confusing. We often receive questions about our throws such as ‘Are these suitable to use as a tablecloth?’, ‘Can I take them with me to the beach?’ or ‘Are they safe to sleep on’? The answer is: YES! Our throws are handmade from 100% cotton and can basically be used however you like. But just in case you could use some inspiration, here are 4 ways to use them.
1. Throws as bedspreads
Whether you prefer a casual, tossed-on appearance or a neatly folded arrangement, throws can add some personality to your bedroom. The single size (220 x 140 cm) is perfect for a kids bedroom while the double size (240 x 280 cm) comfortably fits a kingsize bed.

2. Throws as tablecloths
Perfect as indoor or outdoor tablecloths, our handmade textiles create a bohemian ambiance that’s perfect for intimate dinners or larger gatherings. Mix and match our funky designs to complement your dinnerware and create a unique table setting.

3. Throws as picnic blankets
Planning a picnic or a day at the beach? Don’t forget to pack your Doing Goods throw! Lay it out on the grass or spread it on the sand. The vibrant colors and patterns, brought to life through the ancient technique of block printing, will make your spot easy to find!

4. Throws as tents
What’s more cosy than a tent? Drape our blankets over chairs, tables, or even a clothesline strung across the room to build an indoor tent. Use some branches or a wooden structure to build a makeshift tent in your backyard.

How it’s made
All our textiles are made from 100% cotton and naturally dyed using vegetable dyes derived from roots, bark, leaf flowers or fruits. They are block printed by local craftsmen in India who master this age-old printing technique like no one else. The crafts people we work with were taught by their parents, who were, in turn, taught by theirs – each generation working almost exactly as the one before.
